Project Description
Nancy Normal, Sam Sophomore, Theresa Terra, Fred Flimmer, Glen Glee, and Carelton Comet went on a picnic together. At 7:35 pm, the sky suddenly darkened and Carelton Comet was found dead. There was knife with blood on it and there was a note written left at the crime scene. We also found fingerprints on a shard of glass. Then we examined the suspect's karyotypes and their family pedigrees which gave us even further info. With all of this evidence we were able to find who the murderer was.

Concepts
1st Degree Murder: unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated
2nd Degree Murder: an intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned, nor committed in a reasonable "heat of passion"
3rd Degree Murder: homicide committed with the intention of causing bodily harm, but not necessarily death
Gene: sequences of DNA that codes protein which gives you a trait
Genotype: the genetic constitution of an individual organism
Phenotype: set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment
Dominant: over recessive
Recessive: under dominant
Ink Chromatography: ink is exposed to a solvent which causes it to separate the colors
Karyotype: set of chromosomes
Family Pedigree: chart of shapes that stand for something

Reflection
This project was very fun and interesting. This was one of the projects that I actually looked forward to work on which is good and I hope future projects can be like this too. One peak of this project was the time management. Time management was something I needed to work on last year and this year I have significantly improved by taking advantage of all the time I can get to work on the projects. I also don't go too off task. Usually when I go off task it is because of others in my group whom I can't control. We finished this project with a full work day to spare. This is when we perfected our project and added things we thought would make our project shine brighter than the others. One pit was that our case didn't get the warrant which I was surprised by because a group before us got the warrant and ours was obviously better than theirs, but I can't complain about this because the judges weren't professionals. They were just other students. Another peak of our project was that everyone did a good amount of work on the project which doesn't always happen. Usually there is one or two people that work on the project but this time everyone did very well. Our last pit was the attitude in general in the classroom. It seems like everyone is always very negative in class instead of accepting what we are assigned to do. We need to listen to what the teacher says. This is something we need to improve on as a class. Overall I enjoyed this project a lot.
